We draw on the latest advances across multiple scientific fields, including decision science, integrated nutrient/pest/disease/weed management, remote sensing, field sensors, weather services, artificial intelligence, and digital technology to deliver the best possible advisory solutions for smallholder farmers at the lowest possible cost.
Our Approach
Decision first – we focus first and foremost on identifying, analysing and supporting the critical decisions farmers and aggregators face in risky production environments, drawing on development in decision science
Embracing uncertainty – we represent uncertainties in knowledge and data, for example using probability distributions, focusing data collection on areas that have the highest value for making better decisions, and communicating uncertainty to farmers
Knowledge engineering – one of our greatest strengths is in the way we judiciously include and quantify all factors that are important to a decision, irrespective of data availability, and combine information from multiple sources using Bayesian Networks
Spatial agronomy – our cloud-based spatial agronomy platform is a fundamental resource for being able to provide a very low-cost, all-digital advisory service
Diagnostics – we diagnose what factors are limiting yield and profitability, including deploying low-cost sensors, and seek practical solutions for removing constraints
Measuring impact – we are committed to measuring our impacts on changes in stakeholder behaviour, yields, product quality and profits
We draw on the latest advances across multiple scientific fields to deliver the best possible advisory solutions for smallholder farmers at the lowest possible cost.
