We are excited to announce our groundbreaking partnership with Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) in Uganda, a company who have been working alongside smallholder farmers since 1986. SAA partners closely with national agricultural extension services in Ethiopia, Mali, Nigeria, and Uganda to assist smallholder farmers throughout the agricultural value chain. Its mission is to enhance farmers’ incomes and improve food and nutrition security by promoting sustainable, regenerative, and nutrition-sensitive agricultural innovations while building the capacity of extension agents and farmers.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in using technology to empower farmers, improve yields, and increase the sustainability of farming practices in Uganda. Through this partnership, we are introducing our Virtual Agronomist AI advisory service into their regenerative agriculture initiative. Virtual Agronomist is a revolutionary advisory tool that provides farmers with precise, data-driven recommendations for optimising fertiliser use and agronomic management. Together with SAA, we aim to serve 15,000 farmers across more than 20 districts in 2025, doubling this number by 2026. It is an ambitious goal, but one we are confident in achieving through teamwork and innovation.
Our mission is clear: to enhance the quality and quantity of crops while increasing farmer profits and cutting costs year after year. By comparing current harvests with previous years’ data and conduction post-harvest surveys, we will measure the impact of our efforts and ensure farmers see tangible benefits.
This is a shared journey. From supplying essential inputs to ensuring reliable data collection and reporting, our collaboration with SAA reflects a shared commitment to advancing regenerative agriculture. As we move forward, we are excited to gather insights, share successes, and improve our service based on farmer feedback.
At iSDA, we believe in the power of partnerships to drive meaningful change. Together with SAA, we are planting the seeds of a brighter, more sustainable future for Ugandan farmers – one harvest at a time.
